About The Surgeon

Dr. Lee's primary office is in The Scurlock Tower, directly across the street from Methodist Hospital, in the Texas Medical Center. He has been at this location since July of 1985, when he completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He also maintains a secondary office on The Woman's Hospital Campus at 7580 Fannin.

Dr. David Lee, MD, FACS

Unique to Dr. Lee's practice is his Board Certification... He is Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialists in two separate specialties… Plastic Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat). This double board certification adds to Dr. Lee's expertise in Facial Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Lee now limits his practice to Cosmetic and Aesthetic Surgery, with some select reconstructive surgery of the face and breast.

After graduating from LSU School of Medicine, in New Orleans, Dr. Lee continued his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, where he completed his Otorhinolaryngology Residency. Immediately on completing his training Dr. Lee served as a Major with the United States Air Force for two years, fulfilling his military obligation, at Clark Air Force Base in the Republic of the Philippines. While there he organized the Specialty Lecture Series for the Interns at the hospital as well as assisting in the training of Philippine Interns and Residents that used Clark AFB as one of their primary teaching hospitals.

He then returned to practice Otorhinolaryngology in his home town of Natchitoches, Louisiana until 1983, when he returned to Houston to advance his medical training, again at Baylor College of Medicine. Here he completed his Plastic Surgery Residency training. He became Board Certified in Plastic Surgery the following year and remained in Houston to establish his practice, electing to stay in The Texas Medical Center and locate in The Scurlock Tower Medical Professional Building.

Currently Dr. Lee is on the active medical staff at The Methodist Hospital, Methodist Diagnostic Hospital, The Women's Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and Park Plaza Hospital. He is also on the active staff at several certified outpatient surgical centers in the medical center area.

Dr. Lee has served in several positions of leadership at the hospitals as well as being involved in multiple medical organizations, at the state and local level. These include serving as a previous Chief of Surgery at the Methodist Diagnostic Hospital, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Park Plaza Hospital, as well as chairman of multiple committees at several of the hospitals. He was a past president of the Houston Society of Plastic Surgery and is currently a full delegate, for the Harris County Medical Society, to the Texas Medical Association.

The Medical Societies in which Dr. Lee maintains an active membership include The American Society of Plastic Surgery, The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The American Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The American College of Surgery, The Texas Society of Plastic Surgery, The Texas Medical Association, The Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Harris Country Medical Society. He is also licensed in the State of Texas and Louisiana under their respective Medical Licensing Boards.

Dr. Lee is one of the founding fathers and served as an Executive Director of United Medical care, a physician directed health care organization with over 800 physicians in the Houston and Galveston area. He was the first medical director of this organization and instrumental in establishing some of the health care policies and procedures. United Medical Care is now the Heritage Health System and continues health care in the area.

The hallmark of Dr. Lee's practice is the basic Philosophy in which he believes... that of combining "Twenty first Century Medical Technology with a Doctor-Patient relationship reminiscent of the 1950's". A tradition that he feels is accountable for his successful practice and a very strong patient following.
